Don't know if you guys read my intro thread in the intro section. I'm getting back into cycling after a six year layoff. Got a used road bike figured maybe some new brake pads and I'm all set. Welllllll......
Need new cleats for the clipless pedals. Wait a minute they're already ~$15 might as well get a new set of crank brother candys on sale for $40.
How come my old SPD shoes are too tight, feet still grow when you're in your thirties?????
Where'd my chain cleaner go??
Even though the nubs are still on areas of the tire tread, the sidewall's got a little cracking...
..and on and on and on................ ouch me wallet :roflmao:
+1 I'm still in denial but starting to accept the fact that buying a bunch of ittle stuff adds up. Where does it end :(?

It doesn't. This is one regret I have for getting back into riding after a 10 years layoff. After a month, I already spent over $300 on various parts. Don't even get me started about a new bike. I guess I can rationalize it by saying I am spending the money to get fit and not spending it on drug, booze, gambling or on women.

I was with you until you got to this part. What's wrong with spending money on women again?

Your journey has just begun my young Skywalker.;)
Noticed your shorts/bibs too tight yet? How about the jerseys? Gloves? Lights? New helmet? Frame pump? How about some nutrition drinks? Winter's coming up. Do you have arm/knee/leg warmers? Long sleeve jerseys? Booties? Rain pants? Jacket? Helmet cover? Goggles?

I should have said on other women. I don't mind spending it on my wife and I spend plenty.:D:)
Welcome to the club! You'll also find that those deals you find are really good... until you relalize you bought a bunch of deals that added up to lots more than you wanted to spend!
Although I did just get a great deal on a brand new pair of PI microsensor bib shorts (my first pair of bibs) for just $60!! there is a local PI rep that's getting rid of his demo stuff for cheap. The catch: they are all in size Medium. But he also had PI jerseys for $20. If I wasn't already broke now I'd have gotten a couple more things.
If you fit Med sized PI stuff PM me and I'll get you his contact info. I know he's trying to sell a bunch of it this weekend. Oh heck... I'll just give it here: His name is Andy Knorr, email him at aknorr@nautilus.com and ask him what he's got left.

I realized the other day that just the stuff I was wearing(helmet, bibs, jersey) cost about the same as my buddy's Ultegra Equiped bike. But I can also tell you, Assos and Sidi will have me as a customer probably for life. If I'm spending 6 hours on a bike, I need to be comfortable.
You know you've really lost it when you put a bike computer on your 4-year old's bike so that he'll have more of an incentive to ride the bike without the training wheels. He's still stopping his bike like Fred Flintstone...
Or you start shopping around for upgrades for your wife's bikes although she's perfectly happy with what she has.

Solution: Buy yourself another bike to upgrade and start the process all over again :). Such a vicious circle!!!

That's a pretty sweet deal. You get to shop and spend money. But she can't give you a hard time cause you're doing it for her!

And that opens the door to be able to get his and hers Assos bibs and/or Sidi carbon shoes! And tell her you did it so that you both can match!! Aawww... she'll think you are soooo sweet! haha!

My list is actually based on what I've bought in the past 10 months and then some. I think I have spent enough money to buy a very nice road bike with. But the way I see it, this stuff should last me a few years except for the nutrition stuff. Some of my clothes are actually getting big since I've lost 20 pounds. Oh well, as long as they are not too small I'm OK.
