Suppose you passed another cyclist who you are sure is the love of your life - Or even just plain hot. What are the odds you'll ever meet him/her again? I'm wondering what y'all think about a BF missed connections (like on craig's list)

Chances are next to zero....even if something were created for BF connections.

Most cyclists I talk to in the area don't come to BF.

I ride everyday - and when commuting I ride mostly the same route as I do everyday - and I do run into some of the same riders - I'd have to say I could not depend on running into this person again. And like KT said, no one I know in the club is on any of the several bike forums I'm on --- there are a few over in BikeJournal.com - I know only because they listed my club as their primary club - but I would not have any idea who they were. Me, hehe, they may pick out of a crowd...

I've run across lots of "hot" cyclists. The few times I've bothered to try to talk with the men I meet, they're all married or waayyyyyyy too young.

<slinkin' away, realizing this question was aimed at the young'uns> :o

I'm usually goin' way too fast to take notice of how 'hot or not' other riders are. :D

Heh. That's why I joined the local bike club (to hopefully meet someone who rides a freaking bicycle and is single ---- the ex hated bicyclists on the street and let me know each and every time we passed one of my brethren), however - I quickly realized they are mostly all married - and if not then they were quite abit older. :(

Its a known secret here in Denver that you just don't try to pick up people on the trails.

Just part of a rule we have here. :)

How would you know that he/she is the love of your life just by passing them. Yeah, I can pick out phyiscal qualites just as quickly as the next guy, but I need to hear them speak first. Case in point...Miss South Carolina...really hot....then she spoke.....

Older is ok. At least if they're divorced or widowed, the children, if any, are likely to be of majority age. ;)

That would be Denver, Krinkistan? Just want to be sure I have the geography correct. :)

Yes, our capital is named after John Denver. I thought that was...oh, never mind.

Why does it have to be a bass? Why can't it be a delicious deep fried tempura sushi roll?

Okay, in addition to being male cyclists, there are three attributes listed here: (1) hot; (2) married; and (3) young. #3 most certainly does not apply to me. #2 will no longer apply to me by the first of the year, give or take. :fight: (it's actually quite amicable, but still sucky). As for #1, I'll leave that for you to decide. ;)

Something can be deep-fried, tempura or sushi, but not all three.

And, yes, like the rest of the male cyclists I meet, you, too look "hot," as I put it earlier. ;)

Just part of a rule we have here. :)This rule has never applied in Washington Park, lot's and lot's of cycling connections use to happen there. :D

Been on BF a while, rarely popped here - this thread struck a note with me (A# for those wondering... ;))

I ride in some populated places (Queen St. W and Bloor/Danforth) and yet I've never thought of them as a 'missed' connection - I've also checked a couple of times and posted once, and nothing seen/heard. I've seen some gorgeous ladies on bikes on occasion, but I'm pretty sure they all ignore the ultra-fred aka construction worker look I have when riding (Safety goggles, hi-vis vest and helmet) - as much as I love girls, I won't change my riding gear.. is this good/bad/opinions...?

I'm dating someone but not anywhere near married, young, decent looking, and more than willing to make one of those biking connections. I just need to find a cute girl on the trail. Realistically, with the girls my age posting in here, I'd love to move to one of your home towns and ride around endlessly until I happen to bump into you. (And I would literally do that if it meant you'd talk to me) Biking can turn a 6 into a 10 so you girls who are 8's and above are off the scale in my book.

Vega, how young is too young? <Curious Lucky look>

Depends in part on the man. It's a "need to know where you are" basis.... ;)

I was thinking--yeah, I can see why they'd pass by without a friendly hello!

HELMET, though, ah, that's different.

Well, you know what they say, if they don't like you for who you are, then who needs 'em. You could change to be a Lance lookalike but then you'd have to maintain that, and who needs all that work?
