Texas - Wild West Hammerfest?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'll be there for the 65 mile route.
I'd love to go but I'm still working on scheduling.

This will be my first century in 25 years. O, I've done quite a few shorter charity rides but with kids, jobs, and lots of other stuff just didn't have the time or dedication to get ready for a good ol long one. I am pretty excited and right on my training schedule. How does this one rate as far as hills, road surfaces, support and crowds?
I'll be one of a few in a Florida Gator jersey.

I forgot to mention that I will be driving over from Stephenville Friday night. I will prob be the only one in town missing the football game.

I'm told the roads were fresh chip-seal last year, and the winds were pretty steady the whole ride, together making for a not so fun experience. I haven't done this one before, I'm just speaking from what I've heard from others around these parts.

That's the same day as the Texas Time Trials, and since aikigreg is on my Tejas 500 4 man recumbent team, I ain't gonna let him sneak off and ride something else that day, especially since I spent an hour today rescheduling my surgery which the VA insisted on scheduling two days before that.
