or logs?

--ones that fit right in with their surroundings.

It seems like it could be done. Maybe some tent manufacturer has already done it?

I would go for one that looked like an old fallen tree stump.

Or a small boulder made of granite.

Be great for certain styles of camping.

i had thought about that about a year ago. i thought it might be a cool idea. especially a 'log' shaped tent. that could easily be a one man tent. don't think anyone makes one. let me know how your prototype works out.

No but when I buy them I look for dark, drab colors for the small tents just for that purpose. Normally you would want a lighter colored tent if you are going to be stuck inside for a couple of days in bad weather. My current small tent is a sand color with a darker tan fly. I have been looking at the Hennessey Hammocks (http://www.hennessyhammock.com/) and they come in fairly concealable colors. Last Bivy Sack I had was black...not the best choice but hard to find a night.

If you are camping in a city, then how about a car tent?

Good idea. If you were "Car Camping" inside a city, this would be a great way to avoid paying costly hotel fees.

I love that car tent.

duck fat has it right..... "Camo Tarp"

here's a tent covered up with a camo tarp in the left photo. and a bike and sleeping hootch in the middle of the picture on the right. These were away from the road a little bit, screened by brush behind the camera's perspective, and undectectable to the casual onlooker.

Camo Tarps.
