I was wondering if anyone has heard of, or even better, had personal experience with Mizuno carbon forks. I was thinking about upgrading to the Mizuno MA23 carbon fork, but do not know much about the brand. The price seems nice (~$165) and even better, it comes in the 1" w/ 45mm rake that I am looking for. Thanks for your time.

Mizuno I know makes very bad running shoes...no cushion whatsoever. Not sure about their forks though... might not even be the same company.

I've got a Mizuno full carbon fork on my road racing bike.
It cost me 110 USD or thereabouts.
After having ridden it for 7 months the fork... er... failed (I suppose is the word) - namely, the stem (the column) (made of fibre glass) came off completely off the crown. And there I was escaping from the pack on the descent - gaining the time fist over hand - going well over 70 mph - did the bunny-hop to tackle a pot-hole - then I remember a strange wobble at the front-end - no traction, my palms clasping the hanlebars which were waving freely in the air - 'Or dear, or dear, or dear - someone seems to get himself into quite a jam' - were my very last thoughts. A terrific crash followed - I hit the tarmac with my chin first. The bike got entangled with my hands and legs and i was sliding down the descent at quite a rate of knots. Miracle of miracles - I survived the crash relatively unscathed - smashed face, broken rear jaw, a couple of missing teeth. But what a horrific accident, I thought. I've had my whole body burn for wheeks after that. I was crying not out of physical pain at the side of the road back then, but out of the lost race that I shoud've won that day... Ah, sweet memories...

So much for the Mizuno-branded road forks, guys! Upon inspection of the failure it turned out the stem had been glued to the crown by one single droplet of epoxy resin!!! Some cretin from the Orient did it, no doubt. The fork had held out 7 months worth of riding - but in the end it failed - where it most mattered to me. It took me quite a while to gain the trust into the carbon folks, guys.

sorry to hear about your accident, however I'm sire it was a one off.

Mizuno Sports make many different sporting goods, most notably Golf Clubs. Very good golf clubs and their carbon fibre shafts.
Their rnning shoes are pretty good to but I prefer their oriental rivals Asics.

Mizuno Carbon forks come specced on Fondriest road bikes. A friend of mine has a Fondriest Top Something with the Mizuno fitted and loves the fork. Stiff, yet comfortable and tracks very well, light.
Has never had a problem in 3 yrs. Frame cracked a few months ago (he races it very very hard) but the fork is still going strong.

Cycling Plus magazine in the UK rated it as one of the best fork out there, ahead of Reynolds Ouzo Pro.
Thats says something about their quality....
