Southern California - What type of rep does BF have?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
That's it, I want to be a socaler. It's final.

Here's a bumper sticker we can put onto our bikes.

[QUOTE=Mo'Phat;5174952]BikeForums is straight-up gangsta, dog. Don't be frontin'. Holla.
Maybe I am not cut out for BFing, as I was a bit nervous riding solo down 7th Ave in Long Beach last weekend. Puckered more than on the worsed parts of Noble on a bad day. Not sure how well I could hold up in the ghetto wearing riding gear, especially the shoes...couldn't even run if they took my bike! I am sure I saw a few younger "gentlemen" trying to figure out how much crack they could get if they traded in my bike (against my wishes). If I were gangsta tuff I wouldn't have been riding so fast, but I did learn that fear is good for your pace. I will not be riding alone through that neighborhood again.
On the flip side, the older guys (some on their cruisers, complete with groceries) were cool. I got a few "nice bikes" and a lot of friendly "hello"s from the older people, but even they were looking at me like I was from another world.

it wasn't the traffic that scared me, I rode for years in SD with no concerns. It was the fact that my bike (not high end) was worth more than most of the cars in the area, and a lot of the people seemed to know that.

Oh I gotcha...I do know that feeling at times....
LOL, that's one advantage of riding a 'bent. They wouldn't know how much it's worth. They would have no idea who to sell it to. And if they tried to ride it off, they would fall over at the first turn, assuming they could even get it going in the first place! :D

I think it's pretty certain anyone on any internet forum is a certified dork, yours truly included.

I'm not certified.
I'll go get up close and personal with him. Once he meets me, he'll have nothing but BF on his mind, and I bet BFing will become an addiction. He'll be jonesing to ride. :D That felt1 guy said it. Go straighten him out.

...you're just auditing the certification courses, which is more dorky.

I'm not sure how I feel about BFing with a felt1. I mean, surely felt1 has already a pro at BFing, yes?:p

#1 - I think you meant this for me, but you're so certified that you forgot to hit "reply to quote."
#2 - HA HA - see!, you cannot ignore me. :p:D

ps. Ignore is applied only to that other thread....n00b....If you were certified, you'd know this.

Exhibit A from Will's RAAM blog:
How I got involved: Jason, one of the crew members and a friend of mine asked me during a game of Dungeons and Dragons if I wanted to do something cool this summer.

Isn't the certification for "DORK" not "N00B?" N00b certification is a whole other course...taught by Ovoleg.
