I was at my LBS today and one of the guys who works there was telling me about his climb up Baldy Sun. So I was excited and asked him if he went with the BF peeps. He said, "Bike Forum! I don't ride with them," waving his right hand dismissively in the air. "They are,"...Then he looks at me and squints his eyes and says sneering, "I saw them getting ready in the parking lot." I thought what the...what did they do to you?!!:o So I started wondering what sort of rep does BF have in the SoCal biking community. Is it like a gang that gives a beat down to other cyclists with their ulocks to get street cred?:fight: Or does community service by dishing out meatloaf and mash pototoes in their BF kit at a local homeless shelter? I thought it was just a group who love riding their bikes. :love:I maybe wrong cause I'm new. What do you think the BF rep is?

Why don't you provide his name and shop address and we will have a talk with him....

Seriously, I never really thought about the reputation of BF, I do know that I am proud to be associated with them

Bad rep. Who would belong to any organization that would have me as a member.

Most shops I've been to have never even heard of BF.....or for the matter, most all cyclists I come across and have a chance to talk with.

In fact, I was searching for something and came across this site by accident several years ago and joined. :)

I am sure that some people don't like BF, just like some people don't like Bangers and Mashed.

Too bad both of those kinds of people suck.

The owner of my LBS doesn't really know about BikeForums, but he sure loved my BF jersey.

They probably hate rides where people don't get dropped....

I think some don't like it because anybody can say anything ... so what's the point? That's what I LIKE about BF.

I don't know what type of "rep" BF has. I know that I appreciate the community... many people here have become personal friends and the organized rides/get togethers are always a bunch of fun!

Cool. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Weer famus!

I've found a real sense of cameraderie with BF. I haven't had so much fun with a cycling group before. I always look forward to doing BF rides, and meeting more of you in person, rather than just trading messages on the forum.

Time to find a new LBS....

Not sure if this guy was with a group or not...my lbs guy rode up a bit ahead of us with another group..he knows us and has ridden with us, and has no problem with us...

grrlyrida

probably not him. This guy had a problem with BF. He changed the subject when he saw a puzzled look on my face. Guess he didn't want to miss out on a sale.

Anyone who thinks we are not an easygoing, fun loving, friendly group must be ruthlessly suppressed.

Well, I personally am shocked and dismayed that anyone would not like us. It is my mission to help that lonely, lost lbs soul. Please PM his name and address to me. I'll go get up close and personal with him. Once he meets me, he'll have nothing but BF on his mind, and I bet BFing will become an addiction. He'll be jonesing to ride. And if that doesn't work...I'll send Ovoleg to get up close and personal. If Ovo and I "tag-team" him, we shall prevail. :D

Maybe he used to be a street crew worker who lost his job because ovoleg kept volunteering to fix the streets for free.

Maybe it's because anyone can be a BFer. It's like a "there goes the neighborhood "thing. It's like me, I don't know ish about anything and yet I post crap all day long. Elitist don't like change. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the people on BF but rather the big capitalist advertisers. Who knows, who cares.

i don't know what that guys problem is, but someone is very close to earning the title of Miss Teen South Carolina.

Oh man oh man, now you're talkin'. That ought to be the recruiting slogan. Realisticly though, it would be a frame pump. I'd say there's hardly any of us that bother to lug a u-lock around.

Biking is serious business.

I heard most about BikeForums on RAAM, now that I'm getting into biking I'll be frequenting much more. I know a handful of users and for the most part they're cool, so I figured this place was cool.

Wonder if it was the guys that screached into the lot the same time the early-bird group met? Maybe they were shocked when Happytime kept dropping the F-bomb....:roflmao::roflmao:

I was just getting it out of my system early because, you know, I'm the Good Twin.

What do you think the BF rep is?

I have no idea. But the guy who yelled out his car window "Bike Forums!!!" at me in my BF jersey last night looked pretty happy. :D

BikeForums is straight-up gangsta, dog. Don't be frontin'. Holla.

/rep, shmep. Dude's probably just jealous because a few online geeks who dabble in bike riding are better at it than him, have better jobs, drive nicer cars, ride hotter bikes, are better looking, and can BF all day and all night.

Mo'Phat

Problem is, if you send Ovoleg on Thursday, Ovo will show up on Wednesday. Apparently BF's rep is bad enough...we don't need to add "Poor Schedulicatifying" too the mix.

:roflmao: Um...no. I meant "Bike Forums" and "Bike Foruming" (as in - on these forums all damn day answering posts like this one while laughing one's ass off). Now, your turn. What does "phucking" mean? It's not in my Microsoft Spellchecker, and the Spellchecker offers no suggestions.
