Barragan's serves gringorized Mexican food like the good majority of Mexican restaurants in town. So does El Compardre's in Hollywood, across the street from the Guitar Center. Favorite stop for rockers and their large breasted girlfriends....food sucks but good drinks.

Los Jarritos in Pomona
Juanitas - Great Burritos, Ontario and Pomona
Albertos for late night food, they are open 24/7, another Pomona joint..
Tios in Rancho Cucamonga..

The only one I don't care for on that list is Juanitas. Senor Baja is also good. I frequent the San Dimas location (especially Wed. night after the Bud's ride for 99 cent fish tacos) but I've been to the Pomona one on Foothill quite a few times also.

I've never had luck at Juanita's either. Many people rave about it though. I'm not sure why!

Senor Baja was Taco Nazo to begin with. The original is on Central and Philadelphia behind Big 5. Might still be TN. Man that location was great and always packed with people.

The SB on Benson and Foothill aint bad but the Pomona, I stay away. Had problems with the health board not too long ago. I remember eating there once thinking, "these people are going to have problems with the helath board soon".:D

I have been eating there since it was Taco Nazo. All of the ones I have noticed have switched to Senor Baja. I'll have to check out the one on Central the next time I ride to work with my wife (that won't probably be until I have another holiday break).

As far as the health board, you can read my post on page 2 about Los Sanchez in Whittier. If I've eaten there and enjoyed the food before they had problems or got a bad grade, I'll usually go back. I doubt most of the taco trailers over here or taco stands in TJ that I enjoy would do too good with the health department. I am sure I'll change my mind after I get sick once.

"Hispanic Food" is like saying "Asian Food". It could be Mexican, or even from Spain or Cuba.
