From what I can tell (not too good at Italian) this happened on August 23, but Simoni rode up Zoncolan for free with whomever wanted to try! I wish I was in Italy. Imagine riding up that mountain with, likely, the best to ever climb it (he's won both times they've ridden it).

2 VOLTE ZONCOLAN

Giovedì 23 Agosto verrà inaugurata la gigantografia di Gilberto Simoni in cima allo Zoncolan; Per l’occasione ci ritroveremo a Ovaro e con le nostre forze e le nostre bici scaleremo la cima del Monte Zoncolan per una festa dedicata alle due vittorie di Gibo sullo Zoncolan.

PROGRAMMA:
Ore 11.00 circa arrivo a Ovaro ai piedi della salita - versante Giro 2007 – i più volenterosi potranno salire in bicicletta assieme a Gibo, gli altri attenderanno i corridori in cima alla salita per pranzare tutti assieme.
Ore 16.00 Inaugurazione della Gigantografia in cima al Monte Zoncolan
Ore 17.30 Ritrovo al Teatro l’Alpina – località Comeglians – per la proiezione del filmato dedicato alla tappa e susseguente presentazione del libro fotografico dedicato a questa salita.

Partecipazione libera a tutti, ciclisti e non.

There's only about 10 riders on the whole planet capable of riding up the Zoncolan with Gibo. :D
