I don't know about you guys but I am fried. Time to kick back and do some cyclo touring and gear back up for cyclocross season. Last weekend's omnium burnt the last match in my book. I lost the TT to my arch nemesis by 34 seconds. Th-th-th-that's all folks!

Yeah me too. But I'm grinding it out until I'm forced off the bike for 4-6 weeks at the end of September.

I'm now in the process of just riding around and enjoying the scenery. The Cheat Mountain Challenge finished my legs off for the season. I am planning on adding a little mountain biking into the mix and possibly getting out on my cross bike from time to time. Time to relax a bit before I start base in a couple of months.

Is it bad when I'm feeling a bit burnt out going in to the biggest race(s) of the season, Gateway Cup?

I must've known, subconsciously, that I'd be approaching burn-out when I decided to only run 2 of the Gateway Cup races instead of 4 when I registered back in July.

Oh yeah? I'll be there [as a 5, at any rate]. I'm doing two as well, Saturday and Sunday.

on topic, I don't feel too burnt out. I haven't raced before so I was trying to make sure I would be prepped for this weekend. I feel like I could go fairly strong through the end of September, but I know at that point I'll be interested in backing off a bit and doing some threshold work.

I hear ya man. I have the Green Mountain SR that I'm taking off for in a couple of hours and I'm just not feeling it. I think I'm getting too old to be doing 30+ races a season.

I'm looking forward to putting the road bike away when I get back, stay off the bike for a couple of weeks, and start getting ready for 'cross.

Burnt out, yes I am burnt out. the raging wildfire has me evacuated from my home and I have not had the energy to ride for about 10 days now. (smoke has been real bad) Somehow watching my mountains and trails burn has me bummed. My Scott CR-1 was the second thing I loaded on my car. The wife was first.

You loaded your wife ON your car?
Well, at least you loaded her first.

I'm done for the season as well. I'm taking an impromptu week off due to a crash last weekend. After this week I'll be tooling around going easy and hard only when I feel like it. Hopefully I'll get in some Mtn biking as well.

The sight of my fixie in the corner of my basement sparked a little smile the other day. I'm anxious to get away from the racing and get into some of those great fall rides.
