What a race to get you back in the mood for jumping on and off your bike at speed.
Riding alternate laps with an unknown partner (teams are pulled out of the hat) on a short but not to technical course (I was lapping in 4mins, my partner 6 mins) for 40mins.
I soon got the hang of it and with a course which went over parkland, tarmac, gravel tracks, a farmers field, woods. Including 3 running sections, boy do I know I'm unfit. The winning pairing did managed 10 laps, while we managed 8.
Was really please that we only finished 1 lap down on a pairing that included a former silver medalist at the world champs!
Oh wel it good to get the first cross race of the season out of the way.
Next one 5th September for a floodlit race
