I'm traveling to Portland on Saturday. Is there anything that is a must see or must do? Bike related and other wise.

Ride to Multnomah falls early in the morning. Start out at or near McMinimums Edge Field just out side of Fairview and ride to the falls through Corbet and along the Scenic Highway. Do an out and back and it will give you 40 miles of great scenic visuals flats, hills and rollers

I should have given you the bad news in my original post. I"m not bringing a bike, just a wife and two kids. I like mountain bike riding even though all I do these days is commute.

I would recommend visiting http://www.omsi.edu/. My kids love going there and they are 2, 4 and 8. There is something for the whhhhoooole family. Right now they have Body Worlds (http://www.omsi.edu/visit/featured/bodyworlds/).
How old are your kids? There are many kid friendly places in Portland. If you give me some more info I'd be happy to recommend some places.
We have some favorite places to eat when we go into town like:
Old Wives Tales (http://www.oldwivestalesrestaurant.com/) healthy and yummy. Their soups are delicious...everything is delicious there actually ;)
Mc Menamins has a great theater (cheap and you can eat and drink in there on lush couches) and soaking tub at the Kennedy School (http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=57)
Many outdoor places to explore. I would drive up the Gorge out to the Hood River and explore all the Fruit Loop (http://www.hoodriverfruitloop.com/index.html) and waterfalls also (so many if you drive east on the 84 that you can have a short hike to.

Pick up copies of the latest edition of the Tribune (friday ed.) and the Willamette Week (wed. ed.), you'll find plenty to do downtown or close in. Check the Mercury too if you want something a little more alternative. All these papers are on line too. The zoo, rose garden, japanese garden, children's and forestry museums and arboreteum in Washington Park are all really nice, ride the light rail to get there.

kids are 1 and 3. Two boys. Great suggestions. I like the Bakfiets. I'd like to see how they ride. I like the museum too.

Wow, this is a beautifull area. The first chance I had, I went to see the bikes at Clevercycles. I like them and really want to get one for the fam. I also drove around the downtown area where 21st street bikes is located and man do y'all need more people on bikes. Portland may be one of the best biking cities in the US, but from what I saw with the trafic and parking, Portland needs ten times as many people on bikes, including me!
We also drove (I know, we should not drive) to Bend to see what that was like. Very nice. It rained and hailed on us while we were there, but still nice. We rented one of those four wheeled bikes and took a ride around the waterfront area. Checked out Hutches bikes and several others, they were all quality shops. They we when to Sisters. Very beautifull.
We just got back from Seaside where my wifes Aunt has a condo on the sea. Very relaxing. It's nice walking the beach.
Everywhere we went, I was amazed at how many bikes were on the tops of cars or on the roads. We are staying in Vancouver and in certain areas, there area lotgs of bikes there too.
We are gonna try to go to the zoo and OMSI on Saturday.
Great so far.
