is it ok to have front tires on the rear?

They aren't really suited for braking or climbing..... probably not a good idea. Maybe if you reverse them they'd be a little better, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

You won't hurt anything or cause excessive wear by running a front tire on the rear, but you won't gain any of the benefits of running a dedicated front on the front or a dedicated rear on the rear. Tires are designated as such because they offer increased climbing traction and/or braking traction when facing in a certain direction on a certain end of the bike. An example might be a widely lugged rear tire for traction on the rear, and a pointed-tread (IRC MYTHOS) for the front because the tires must do different jobs. Some tires are designed to be used on the front or rear. These tires are usually designed to be turned around (rotating direction) depending on the wheel they are installed on.

Some tires work better with 2 front tires.

I believe it was MBAction that ran Maxxis Minion's front's on both ends.

Damn I'm good :D

I know the Michelin Comp 32's (I think it's the Comp 32's) work better reversed on the rear, even though it says to put it on the other way.

I run Nokian NBX 2.3 FR's, so they aren't side specific.

I wonder if GoodYear or BFG is going to make bike tires.... An MT TAKM would be badass!
