I'd drop the dodgy Foo, and replace it with "& more".

That's because you're such a...

Whatever it is, you're one. :p

Yeah, I'm one of those. Nothing wrong with Foo, but who wants to explain it to everyone that reads their shirt?

Stacey

Better Foo than A&S. :D Just tell 'em... Google it.

Tappets

if the design is chosen, we can haggle over what should/shouldn't be on there. it can all be changed in a jiffy.
i think it would be crazy to try to get everything on there tho. but what do i know? i just work here.

fuzzbox

Fuzz, fine line detail is probably not the easiest to reproduce on a shirt. But I'm not suggesting motomags, ok?

Yea I know, like I said it was a quick idea and I actually am in the business of promotional products/tshirt making and such so I know what the can and cannot be on it. Plus I'm not going to do anything serious unless the idea is wanted because it's a waste of time if it's not going to be chosen.

I personally like the "Are You a BFer" shirt. Attention grabbing, humorous, modern logo. I'd buy one today

The snaking chain is good (actually the best "design") but it will turn into a big pissing match as to which subforums to include and I am sure there will be a flame war among those whose fav. subgroup is not included

I agree...the shirt should be simple and general, not an attempt to explain BF or its internal politics - for that someone merely needs to pay us a visit via the web address, which will hopefully be on the shirt.

Well, are we ready to vote, or do we have some pending entrants?

Well, are we ready to vote, or do we have some pending entrants?

I say lets get going before I get more competition

Lol jp, I think it could wait one more day.

fuzzbox

Let's do it. *Note that my entries will be better if it's chosen.(Don't want to waste time if I have no chance.)

bac

Well, are we ready to vote, or do we have some pending entrants?

Okay folks - some GREAT artwork to date for sure!!! Let's shoot for a 9/30/07 date for final submissions. Then, we'll do a poll on 10/1/07, pick a winner, and roll from there.

Hey, we may even do a couple different shirts if there is enough interest. :)

... Brad

Brian

Hmmm. I think we've seen all the entrants we're going to see.

donnamb

So Brad, what kind of shirts do you use? What's the sizing like?

I just got mine, and they're nice. I'll do a review later.

fuzzbox

Unless they chose everything themselves it's probably going to be preshrunk, from gildan, hanes or whatever the company likes. I usually wear a M and when I order shirts I get S.

Here is another new designhttp://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t266/wjr_photos/obey-logo.jpg:D

Now there's a confident dude: He's doing the finish line victory salute with the medal already around his neck!

Etiquette question: Do you put the medal on at the start line to intimidate the other riders, or in the final 200 meters as a more humble gesture?

All these cool logos have inspired me:

Thanks Brian, I think I got it now. The colors would be a metallic gold, royal blue and Olympic blue. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t266/wjr_photos/logo1x-1.jpg

I think this one could be really cool. ThePwninator's isn't bad, but PLEASE change the typeface ... I can't STAND Comic Sans.

http://bancomicsans.com/

Edit: JRrestore, do you think you could work a bicycle in there somehow? I'm thinking something like the "prancing lions" supporting the shield on a royal crest.

bac

So Brad, what kind of shirts do you use? What's the sizing like?

Hey Donna. I use Hanes Beefy-T shirts. They are 100% cotton (6.1 oz) and ring-spun (read: soft), and a very substantial shirt. I could go with a Hanes Tagless/Heavyweight, or a Gilden to save some money in terms of the final price, but the Beefy-Ts are so nice that I think they are worth the extra expense. They are what I use for all my stock VeloTees.com (http://www.VeloTees.com) designs. Depending on the design, I should be able to offer a few different color choices also.

In terms of sizing, please check out my FAQ section under sizing for exact measurements of the Beefy-T:

http://www.velotees.com/FAQ.php#Sizing

You can compare these numbers to t-shirts that fit you now to determine your size. :)

... Brad

donnamb

Oh, those kind of t-shirts. I'm one of those women that "unisex" sizes don't fit. Pity.

bac

Hey Donna. We may do a women's specific shirt if there is interest. I wonder what that would look like with one of the submitted art .... hmmmmm .....

Brian

Can you print mine on the back? By the way, I still haven't sent them through the wash, but they're way better quality than what the Beefy T used to be.

Perhaps something like this (http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=5165600&postcount=4051).

wolfpack

well, i like JRrestore's and Tappets design's the best. I also wanna vote for a women's specific shirt as the Hanes Beefy-T fits like a box on me and I like something that fits a little "fitter" and follows the curves....

Tude

OoooOooo I want one!!! Several good ideas represented here too, but I have to say I do like Tappets design (the one not using the comix font).

Of course then we'll have to have a "Show Us Ur Shirt" thread! :)

Shadiyah

Yes Please!!!! Do a womens specific fit. The unisex just doesn't cut it! We need someplace for our curves to go! :)

alicestrong

+1

They end up becoming pajamas...:D

phazer08

+1 on the women's specific.
+1 Tappets...with the "it's all here" as comic font.

edbikebabe

here's my design! i have more to do with it but this is the general idea. only 2 colors so far!

Looks good - if you spell Triathlon correctly.;)

*edit* dang you all for making me read "the whole thread" before replying. Fooey on all of you!

Hey, he fixed that already. You have to read the whole thread.

+2! WSF for sure. Otherwise, the shirt just gets used as a something to sleep in or workout in.

Rough Idea.

I like this design.

Since it's still a design-in-concept:
I'd prefer a different font on the bikeforums.net.

There's the straight-line theory and the branching theory of evolution...the front could remain as-is and the back could be the branching theory..I see a tandem, a touring bike with panniers, a "comfort" bike, a unicycle, a tri-bike, etc. Could be fun..with another "bikeforums.net" on the back.

Women's specific sizing, please, 100% cotton. Organic cotton would be very cool (I'd pay extra for it).

Absolutely no pink. Anywhere.

bfromcolo

I can't wait to vote and order some shirts, very cool designs here. Regarding the T-shirt itself, could a wicking type fabric be available, versus all cotton? I'd like to wear it on my bike, but absorbent shirts get too wet and sticky when I work up a sweat.

Tappets

...Regarding the T-shirt itself, could a wicking type fabric be available, versus all cotton?...

hey yeah... good point. can you do that Brad?

PS: i'll never mispell triathlon again

More updated version in vector format. Honestly I don't know what kind of fonts you guys approve of so the names of them are good.

I've taken a look at all the fantastic ideas in this thread. I agree with the need for a women's fit option. This design appeals the most to me, but I'll go with whatever the group/voting ends up with. I think it would be great fun to have a t-shirt for all the BF get togethers which appeals to my geek side, I suppose. :D

Hmmm. Would a family tree work, or is that too much?

donnamb

A family tree sounds really cool. What do you think, fuzzbox? (I like the new font, BTW.)

vrkelley

Some really nice designs here! As a commuter, I have a yellow bias. How about a yellow shirt.

aprilm

+1 for the women's specific!! :D

I'm pretty sure there will be some color options, but Brad should be around to confirm that at some point.

Okay, it looks like there is definite interest in a women's fit tee. It shall be done! :)

(There may also be a synthetic (read: wicking) shirt in the mix.)

Yup Donna, it will be something very similar to the cut of that shirt - very cool design, BTW!! :)

After looking at bac's avitar...my vote is for long sleeve! :D

Family tree as in a bush of bikes with some trunk that's bike related or something.

Ah, good - your creative wheels are turning. Thank goodness for the artists around here. :)

WSD woohoo, wicking even better!

I already have a closet full of race (running) t-shirts that I only wear a handful of because of the fit.

Hard to choose between Fuzzbox and Tappet's design.
