Maybe we just have to throw out something controversial....maybe like....all professional sport athletes are dopers? :fight:
How about something like....the PAC-10 is highly over-rated only because of the west coast media coverage?
Hmmm....The Big-10?? There's 11 teams...can't they count in the midwest?
Big East?? Does that even qualify as a conference??
ACC.....Don't they play basketball??
Big-12....Teams still surviving in the polls as a result of days gone by...
SEC...bunch of thugs on a football field...kicking butt.
Notre Dame....The single-most, over-rated team in history. And don't hand me that smack about LSU having home field advantage for the Sugar Bowl last year...when you get your butt kicked that bad, it doesn't matter where you're playing, you're going to get your butt kicked!
There...that should make it a bit more controversial...should spark some interesting debate!
:D
Ummmm.... Football sux, College football sux ass. :D

Want to really offend someone, talk about the big school near them.
USC. What a joke. They are overrated every year.
And yeah, the SEC, go Gators. That's my hometown and I can finally bask in their glory.

What do you think of South Car this year? Will they be in the hunt for the SEC championship?

Steve Spurrier has really turned their program around...They'll have a tough time in the SEC East with Florida and Tennessee....The Gamecocks have an EXTREMELY tough road schedule this year...at Georgia, at LSU, at Tennessee, and at Arkansas......really...any team in the SEC has a tough schedule....
But for the Gamecocks...you know, last year, they were so close so many times. Really, they should have beaten Auburn...and they should have beaten Tennessee and Arkansas....They were certainly the team that got the "Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" award last year.
Seems that they lost quite a few Seniors though, didn't they? But, with Spurrier there, they probably had some pretty good recruiting classes. I say they'll see 8 wins again this year....hopefully, they'll have a better conference record this year to put them somewhere in the 10 wins column.
SC has to change that name.
And the only other thing I have to add is hullabaloo caneck caneck, hullabaloo caneck caneck.

We can only hope the Aggies don't hullabaloo caneck caneck themselves in the foot again this year....
Ex-wife's family are Aggie lifers....good grief...I only thought I was ate up with college pride...until I met an Aggie....but they were always good sports about being on the receiving end of jokes!

Plywood to protect your store from Hurricane Rita - $200
Supplies to hang the plywood - $50
Using your Aggie education to hang the plywood on the wrong side of the windows - PRICELESS!!
Aggies tell the best aggie jokes. Go to a midnight yell practice and listen to some of the Rock and Rachelle jokes.

Poor Vols...Once again, they're making the SEC look bad...
Poor Wolverines...ROTFLMAO!! Their field goal kicker tried to commit suicide...they found him in his dorm room with a rope around his neck, the other end tied to the light. Problem was, he couldn't kick the chair out from underneath him!!
Auburn looked as though they had their hands full...
Texas almost got to play the same violin Michigan is playing right now...
And the poor, poor, Irish....Charlie Wiess is taking it pretty hard... Looks like they picked up right where they left off last year after LSU handed it to them.
I guess the only other game worth watching today would be the FSU vs. Clemson...should be pretty good...the Bowden Bowl...It's always a tough one to call...could go either way this year...but I'll go out on a limb and say, "Go Noles!"
Ahhh...guess all there is left to do this week is ride my bike...until Saturday!!!

Ooops. I thought this thread was going to be about reincarnation.
Aside from 10 seconds of action on the field, usually no more than a couple of yards movement, the next 3 minutes are usually butt patting, and strutting. If it weren't for Half Time, there'd be no reason to watch. OK, I'm sure I didn't make any friends here ... except for maybe EJ123. I'm out of here.
They play football in college?
Aren't they supposed to study or something?

Congrats, Blue-Shamu, your Tigers looked very impressive last night.
The Aggies have a new coach, maybe he can resurrect the Wrecking Crew defense and A&M can learn to use offensive talent correctly. Fourth and short, lets sit Javorski Lane down and try to pass.

Was there a college football game yesterday?
:D
Seriously, and on a different tangent, Jan 7 for the end of the college season, lat January/early February for the end of the pro season, Halloween for the end of baseball, damn near 4th of July for the end of the NBA - this has gotten completely out of hand.
So, from a cranky old Luddite:
NFL - back to a 14 game season, with no "bye" weeks. Let the damn season end in mid-January at the latest.
Div 1 "Bowl Division" College football - 10 regular season games, tops, completed no later than Thanksgiving weekend. Have a 16 team playoff comprising the champs fo the various conferences and at-large teams to fill out the bracket. Start the playoff by the first weekend of December. Championship game is Jan 1. Bowls can schedule the non-playoff teams.
NBA - 60 game regular season, beginning more or less when it does now. Playoffs end no later than the end of May.
Baseball - go back to the 154 game season. Still start at the beginning of April. Voila, the World Series is done by about Oct. 20 - still later than optimal, but better than it is now. Oh, and no more than two night-time games per best-of-seven post-season series, and no more than one such game per five-game series. Havng baseball's premier games routinely ending after midnight, East Coast time, is simply stupid. (And this is from a West Coast guy.)
None of the above will ever happen, because there is too much short-term money to be made milking the cash cow for all its worth.

Too bad being the BCS National Champions means pretty much nil these days. Here's hoping for a playoff someday like EVERY OTHER NCAA SPORT.
:(
The NCAA D-1 (Championship), D-2, and D-3 all had their championships back in December. They were all awesome games to watch. Kids from Valdosta State, NW Missouri State, Mount Union, Appalachian State, etc., that play out of the spotlight, but play it right.

NFL - Season doesn't end that much later, anyway, and you have to admit the Patriots have been damned impressive to see this season.
College football - Who the hell knows? Institute some sort of playoff, though, so we can at least shut up the whiners.
NBA - Shortening the playoffs would be enough for me. Cut the number of teams getting in by half, thus eliminating the first round, and reduce the number of games in the first series to five from seven. Right now, the playoffs seem to last as long as the regular season, and the regular season is just about meaningless since half the teams make the playoffs.
Baseball - Agree with that, but baseball is the only sport here that's truly a marathon. The length of the season matters to the game.
And no, none of this will happen when there's money to be made. And finally, if you call what was televised last night a "game", that suggests there was actually some sort of contest. I think that's stretching it a bit.

I would think that a real Boilermaker would rather the boiler not get going until well after the boilermaker had vacated the premises.

If everyone would boycott bowl games there would be a playoff. It's that simple. Anyone who attends a bowl game or watches it on TV and then *****es about the lack of a playoff is a hypocrite.

Playoffs would be nice....but, I personally like the current system....of course, I'm not biased because LSU has won two BCS titles....but just look at the interest the controversey draws to college football! I think the current BCS, even with all of its shortcomings and flaws, is, in the big picture, good for college football. Before BCS, when was a Big 11...errr...Big 10 team interested in what an SEC team or a Big 12 team was doing? All they wanted to know was which one of their conference teams was going to be playing in the "almighty" Rose Bowl. Hopefully, next year, the BCS can give us a good SEC vs. PAC-10 match as a BCS game...doesn't have to be the NC game....just a good match-up. But, if it is the NC game, I'd like to see the long awaited and much anticipated LSU vs. USC game!! That one's been hanging around since 2003!
But, as long as the Rose Bowl, PAC-10, and Big 10 want to hang onto tradition, it probably won't happen unless it is a National Championship game, #1 vs. #2.
Only 252 days left before LSU football begins!!!
