Southern California - Today's Temp in your SoCal?

Bummer man! We only work halfdays on Firdays. Been wanting to get out and ride after work but it's been so hot here. Right now currently 101 with a high of 105. Thought I'd be out and riding on Fridays by now. Only seems to be getting worse though!:o

Just might have to get up a bit early tomorrow and head out to the coast.

Maybe I'll move in with Drew down by the beach! Naw maybe not, I'll just stay here in the AC!:p

It's hot in Hollywood and I feel lazy.

I went riding for a couple of hours today with friends in Calabasas and Agoura. It was 105 for most of the ride. Even taking it easy it wears you out. I emptied two large water bottles before we were 3/4's done. It feels OK if you aren't climbing too hard, but the tendency is to expect to ride as hard as you normally do and thats what gets you in trouble.

Yeah. :) But i take the Metrolink train from Union Station to Upland then ride down San Antonio. ~5 miles mostly downhill.

Did a 3 hour road ride today from 9-12. Temp apx 70-73, nice cool beeze.
However, it's now 75 or so out, and 80+ in the house.
Bummer I have no AC.

104 right now in Orange. I have my bike here at work for an after work ride...it's going into the truck and going right home with me; no ride for me tonight! I was out there for about 45 minutes helping out on the forklift and my t shirt had big wet spots on it.:(

I'm right at Fairview and Sunflower, so we're pretty close in temps. My place is on the second floor and is exposed on three sides with NO insulation in any of the walls or over the ceiling, it can be like a freaking oven in there. I have two window AC's and a big fan mounted in my bedroom window that works like a whole house fan blowing out, so that makes it comfortable, noisy, but comfortable.

Better than what Gina gives me. SHe's got a nice feather pillow and a $100 ortho sumthin' pillows. One of those thick foam thingies that she HAD to have! She only uses it to rest her arm.:eek:

My pillow is two of her old worn out rejects stuffed into a pillow case!:o

It's over 100 here in Burbank. Thankfully, I'm not too busy today and can sit in front of the computer, (still over 100), instead of walking around in the sun or working on cars while they are running. Sometimes that makes me feel like I'm gonna hurl.

Yeah, a day or two ago it was hot and sprinkling! Always, always after I wash the cars by hand. It's in my blood!:D

I was supposed to ride this morning but our Daughter got rushed into hospital last night so I was sitting in an air conditioned Hospital this morning..kind of a bitter sweet experience....
Come and ride the BB wiv us over the weekend Beanzer...its always cool down there...

It's like a sticky, stinky armpit in Glendale. The kind of armpit one gets after a day in humid, 110 degree weather under the sun, drinking beer, standing too long around an open grill.

I do not like this weather.

Was going to ride to work today, 14 miles from Agoura to West Hills but it was gonna be 110 at leaving time (now!) so I chucked it....but.....maybe will ride when I get home. Oh heck...I'm going to mom's pool with Hilly and will ride early in the morning.

was 106* at 2pm break. Iduno what it was on my 18mile ride but it was HOTTTTTTT and that was at noon.....

I was climbing up PV West this morning about 9am.

Left side of body: Hot where the sun hit it.
Right side of body: Cool where a chilled ocean breeze hit it.

Rode for a time with a CR named Lee who was taking a break from making the world safe for democracy (his words, not mine). Had pancakes at Good Stuff in Redondo (sorry, ME). Did 60-ish miles but wussed out when it reached 80°F and headed home before 11am.

I must add, without the usual marine layer it was breathtakingly beautiful in PV. I stopped at the overlook on Malaga Cove and the water was so clear I could see the bottom of the lagoon.

My daughter and grandkids are coming in form AZ tonight. May be a weekend of riding and running home to visit. Not even sure if I can get Gina out to ride this weekend either. All my ride talk has been muffled this past week and she may have to work tomorrow. :mad:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know I always win (or lose) these things. My car read 111 at about 3:00 (I think that is as far as it goes--the other day when it was officially 117 :eek:, my car still said 111). And it is cloudy and muggy. Sauna. :mad:

It's almost 7:00 PM, and the thermometer says 99! High of 105 at about 3:30 PM. Whew!! In Pasadena, above the Rose Bowl.

I hear ya. I came home at 8pm, it was 95 degrees outside, and 99 inside! That's with every window and door open and three fans creating a decent cross breeze. We supposedly have a/c, but it just doesn't move enough air -- runs non-stop, and gets even hotter inside (since windows closed).

Oh, and I'm up at 4:30am (well, 4:55 now but I've up since then) trying to get up, get dressed and on my bike. My riding this weekend is ****ed. I hate this weather more than any other. I'm hoping this is the one and only heat wave like it. :(
