Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Labor Day Weekend Plans?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'll be off the net....going to the lake! Have a great weekend all of you :)
Enjoy!! I just got my wheel back. Upset it took so long and apparently it's not hand built like it was supposed to because the guy fell off the face of the earth, but they did tension it and told me to put about 100 miles on it and bring it back in to tension again. Hoping it'll hold...
I gots a Snowy coming to town - woot! :D Four rides planned: 1) easy Manhattan tour, 2) Manhattan loop, 3) Coney Island, 4) Central Park night ride. Should be a blast!
No plans here really. I might try a new bike route on Monday.

Daughter is coming in from Arizona tonight . So it will be ride then run over to play with the grandkids weekend.:D
The NH seacoast is going to have some great weather this weekend - 70s and sunny. I plan to ride each day, and probably do a decent-length endurance ride (60-80 miles) one day to keep me in good shape for my first century ride (now three weeks away - w00t!).
I just gave my drivetrain a well-deserved cleaning in preparation. :)

I will be:
1. Doing an early AM bike ride on Saturday, I love riding up to Nixa, having breakfast and riding home, getting there about the time Lovey gets up and is ready for coffee (10:00 ish - she is a civilized woman after all).
2. Going with Lovey to pick up some equipment she bought for one of her Curves stores from one nearby that is closing down.
3. Having friends over for a grilled dinner Saturday evening, two of who will be driving up from Houston TX and Poteau OK respectively to pick up a dog that we carried back to SWMO from Chicago for them last weekend.
4. Going trout fishing with a dear old friend on Sunday. Too bad for him that I will outfish him as usual. (if I'm lucky).
5. Having another dear old friend up on Monday and hunting woodchucks with our terriers. It's hard work but incredible adrenaline source.
I know it sounds nuts, but this will be a heavenly weekend. The bike is not the center of the universe for me, BUT the fitness and knee usability I have regained from cycling keeps me doing the other things I love. So, that makes me respect and truly love the bike and the time I spend on it even more than I would from simply enjoying and loving cycling for the sheer love of cycling. Does that make any sense at all?

- enjoy! have a safe weekend all!
- will be doing a 20-miler tomorrow and/or possibly sunday... no hurricanes in the forecast, so i'll be on the road, burning up some calories, and working off tonight's happy hour snacks!
:-)
p.s. cookouts are in the immediate future... have a beef flounder (flank steak) marinating in cheap Italian dressing - six minutes per side, thin-sliced w/a large salad == good eats!

Worked late Friday 2nd shift, and have to be back to work Monday evening for graveyard. I plan on leaving to meet the family at the cabin in NW Wisconsin for a few days.
I'll meet up with a relative who has a new digital SLR with a monstrous telephoto lens he's looking forward to trying out. I told him I don't need a big lens. Yet. ;)
I might bring the tent, or just cheap out and flop on one of the sleeper couches in the cabin. I'll have the recumbent with, and will be checking out some of the back roads of Burnett county. We usually have an evening of nickle-dime-quarter poker, much more fun and inexpensive than Hole-in-the-Wallet casino in Danbury.
We'll cap it off with an afternoon communal dinner, where everyone brings the meat of their choice to grill, with shared spuds, veggies and dessert.

got gigs fri and sat nights..... tentatively planning 30-40 milers on sun and mon.... maybe a short 9 or 10 on sat. i have my hundred in this week, so i feel like i've accomplished something.... of course, on some mornings just getting out of bed leaves me feeling as though i've accomplished something....
mentally, i am in full denial of my age.... for some reason my body hasn't seemed to catch on to that attitude yet.... dang....
have a great weekend everybody.
be,

No riding this weekend. Rrrrgh.
We're planning apple picking, parafoil kite flying on the beach, and playing Settlers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settlers_of_Catan).

Well I got in 8 miles this morning with the wife. Came home and dropped her off, changed bikes and rode another 14 miles. Took it easy as I want to ride 50 miles Sunday at the Brandywine Tour, south of West Chester, PA. Hopefully I'll have some energy left for a ride on Monday; but also thinking some steaks on the barbie would be a good idea.
Thanks Tom! It worked! 51.3 miles woooot!:D:D
Great job, Tim!! :D
I will be painting my sons room.:(. Man I hate painting, but it needs it.
