I asked this somewhere else, but then I realized there is this forum, so maybe it is more appropriate here in the Electronics forum.

Hello,

I'm trying to get this thing figured out, but I have a few questions.

I have a Bell Platinum Series Wireless Speedometer with calorie counter.

For my bike, I have a Giant Sedona DX.

I'm trying to figure out where to put the sensor and magnet. Specifically, I guess I am wondering about the orientation of both items. Is the sensor supposed to be perpendicular to the wheel, or parallel, or am I just supposed to put it on any which way I can so that they are close together.

Thanks.

The pick up should be parallel to the magnetic sensor and should be 1-3mm apart. Generally the sensor runs the direction of the fork blade. You can move the spoke-mounted magnet up or down the spoke to get the two close enough.
