Hello, this is my first time ever posting anything, so bear with me. Got on because I was grateful to read comments on a bike I almost bought through an informercial. (need I say more?) Thanks for the warnings. I am not a heavy duty biker as most of you are, just like to get up early and ride through the desert and enjoy the beauty and peace and quiet surrounding me. My form of meditation. I do have to ride the road sometimes to get to various trails. I haven't been out as much this summer as I should, too busy, and very hot and humid. Sometimes it's ninety degrees at 6:30 in the morning; wouldn't be bad if it weren't so muggy.
I also don't know a whole lot about bikes and how to maximize all the shifts I have so it will be interesting to read from others what goes on. I have a lot to learn. I do have a 21 speed and mostly stay in third shifting between 4 and 7, if that makes any sense. I just get on and ride. Great workout!

sounds like you are using only your highest gears. Cadence lower, you need.

Yes, it does sound as if you are staying in your high gears. What bike are you riding? Could you get us a photo which would show us your bike as you ride it?

Welcome to BF!
