Just buy the set and save the rear for your second fixie project. You can always use the rear caliper on the fork by using long-reach retaining nut available at you LBS. Besides, you can find great deals on Ebay. I've purchased many single-pivot vintage brakesets, real cheap....

Sometimes icyclesusa carries single front brakes.. Chucksbikes sells a set of Tekro brakes for $35.

That makes no sense, we can buy them by the each. I got a dozen from cheap to mucho $$. Brake levers to. Kind of pricey but the best looking levers are the Record carbon aero non integrated.
P.S. I could see if they did not want to break a set but they should be able to get you a single in a day or two.

I am considering a front shimano 105 caliper for 35 bucks from other aebike or bike parts usa... I will check with my LBS first to see if they can order me a caliper. i kinda want to stay campy, all my other stuff on the bike is campy already, including my real "front" brake.

Just to clarify, i need a front brake because the campy veloce brake that came in the set was too short to fit in my rear brake bridge. So i think i will order another front brake that is long enough to put in the back.

All you need is a longer retaining nut to make it work, not a new front caliper.
