What groups do you all ride with up here?

I've been riding with the VBC (http://www.vancouverbicycleclub.com/) lately and as a novice I'm enjoying all the rides. I've met some super nice and encouraging people. I've tried one ride that was WAY beyond me, but they were still very considerate and I even had some help by a rider coming back home (I sucked his wheel 1/2 way back home).

I haven't ridden with the PWTC (http://www.pwtc.com/) yet, but want to do the Lacamas loop ride at the end of the month with them. Is this a fun group? Anyone have any experience? I love to have some motivation. I love to do a little faster than I'm used to to push me, but I can't hang with a hammering group!

I feel worried to ride alone up here where there is fast moving rural traffic and love going with a group for high visibility and learning all the roads better (low traffic, etc.).

Just wondering everyone's experience levels and what they do out here in vancouver, wa especially. Do you have groups you ride with that aren't a club? Do you ride solo? Curious me wants to know :D

I ride quite a bit with VBC. I like to do their hilly rides and some of the longer one's as well. Other than that, I ride with my wife, solo, or with the team. I've personally never ridden with the Wheelmen, but I know people that have and from what they tell me, it's a good group of folks.

I don't know if you've seen it, but the Roadscholar website is an excellent source of ride maps in and around the 'couve. http://home.comcast.net/~roadscholars/

Have fun out there!!

I've only done a couple of PWTC rides outside of their 'events' (the Spring/Pioneer Century and the recent Mt. Hood Hoo-Ha). The people have been friendly and fun. I ride solo quite a bit; also ride with my wife some and with a few other Bike Forum members I've met over the last couple years.
