Mountain Biking - Witnessed one of the most violent endoes I have ever witnessed.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

And unfortunately it was one of my nonbrat cousins. The weather wasn't too good today, but he insisted on riding. Going down some single track he is going too fast for the conditions, his front wheel hits roots, gets lodged, gets sent over the bars at a good clip of speed, heard the breakout of the crash, but seen the first impact of body on ground. In order to avoid him, I purposely crash, rush to his side and notice he isn't moving, he has bone sticking out in the area of the jaw. Call paramedics, he comes to just as they are arriving, made him stay still as they but the board on him and take him to the er. Cousin has a severe concussion and broke his jaw in 2 places. He had a helmet on, which probably saved his life. So please, wear a helmet.

Wow sorry to hear about that Danka I hope he gets better. I guess things could have been a lot worse.

Good luck to both of you.

JeeeeZUS!

You must have been frightened nearly to death for him. I sincerely hope I never witness a crash like that -- hell, I hope I never see any, let alone one that sounds as grisly as your cousin's.

Here's to a full and rapid recovery.

Danka, wish him well from all of us in the forums and hope he has a speedy recovery. We all hope he has no lasting damage to his jaw, wrecked teeth, that sort of thing. Let us know what pans out.

Sorry to hear about this.

This thread wins "Worst Crash of The Forum" award. Seriously, it sounds nasty, I can't even think about looking at someone else’s broken jaw. I wish him well and fast recovery!
