Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I got the opportunity of going to a lake here in Oregon over the weekend (Washington County), and there was some nice singletrack trail around the lake, so I decided to take the bike.

Along the way, I encountered a couple of ladies that were out on their first mountain bike experience. I thought, "that's cool!" But then I noticed that one of them was experiencing clipless on a mountain bike for the first time as well! Now, she has a roadie, and she has clipless on that, but looking at her knees, I could see she wasn't doing too good. We were on an uphill when we met up, so she had trouble getting back on the bike and just falling back over to the ground. I felt so bad, but I couldn't do anything. :( She was quite determined to get back on and continue her painful ride.

Later down the trail, I hit the ground at about 25 mph, cutting my left knee and bruising my right one, so I felt a little better ... :crash:

I think they stuck to the road after they left me because I didn't see them again after I went around the lake. The one with the pedals was cute too.

Well, this time it was pretty much like: snag on a plant, I'm on the ground, bike flying at me.

It was as quick as you can read that sentence.

Ladies with grazed knees.. not a very common sight. But very cool.

'The one with the pedals was cute too.' heh, I like that.

cool, I was just there on sunday. I wasn't too impressed... but then again, I had just done the Mackenzie river trail on friday so I was kinda on a high from that and hagg lake really didn't give me the kicks.

Yeah I hadn't done technical stuff like that in quite a while. It's been mostly impossible uphill climbs and strength tests lately. :p It was a lot of fun going up and down and round and round. :D
