I got the opportunity of going to a lake here in Oregon over the weekend (Washington County), and there was some nice singletrack trail around the lake, so I decided to take the bike.
Along the way, I encountered a couple of ladies that were out on their first mountain bike experience. I thought, "that's cool!" But then I noticed that one of them was experiencing clipless on a mountain bike for the first time as well! Now, she has a roadie, and she has clipless on that, but looking at her knees, I could see she wasn't doing too good. We were on an uphill when we met up, so she had trouble getting back on the bike and just falling back over to the ground. I felt so bad, but I couldn't do anything. :( She was quite determined to get back on and continue her painful ride.
Later down the trail, I hit the ground at about 25 mph, cutting my left knee and bruising my right one, so I felt a little better ... :crash:
I think they stuck to the road after they left me because I didn't see them again after I went around the lake. The one with the pedals was cute too.
