Road Cycling - Rides based out of Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Howdy-
Sorry, have to do this quick- leaving for RMNP on Wednesday, so not much time to search. I'm trying to decide which bike to take with me, the roadie bike or MTB. Any suggestions? And, how 'bout some rides to do?
Thanks in advance!

You can only bring one? In that case, bring the mountain bike. The scenary will be great no matter what but better on the mtn bike. However, I can't refer you to any specific trails up there. Boulder is fairly close and it has some good trails. Or, search for some trails near Estes Park.

I don't believe that mtn bikes are allowed much in the park, itself. Not sure about this, but you best check first.
The traditional RMNP ride is to ride over Trail Ridge road - a definite road bike challenge.

Bikes are allowed in the Park but not off the road. There are also some nice road rides around there but if you're in Colorado only a short time, bring the mountain bike and be happy that it has a triple crank!
