Hello everyone!

I am a 27 year old computer science student from Lund in the southern parts of Sweden. I started mountain biking some ten years ago but I gave it up when the last bike I had got stolen, it was a rocky mountain that i really loved :( .

Now I thought I should give road cycling a chance so I just bought a new Columbus Pinta fully veloce equipped (if you think it was a bad buy please keep it to yourself as I have already payed for it, :) ).

Everyone here seems very nice and knowledgeable, hopefully I will be able to contribute with something. Well today is a nice day for cycling so I will hit the roads. See you!

Calle

Hello calix, I take it that you bought your Pinta from Håkan down there at Cykel City..... yes that's right... I'm in Lund too! I just put a notice up on the bulletin board at Cykel City yesterday (monday the 4th) saying that I am a landsvägcyklist looking for other like-minded people to ride together with. I ride about 4-9 mil (svenska mil), usually 2 or 3 times aweek, depending on the weather, work load, etc. I don't know how fast you like to ride but I find it is a challenge to maintain an average of 30k/tim with the wind here in Skåne. I don't want to go through all the hassle of trying to organize a real cykelklubb but I thought it wouldn't be too much trouble to just get a few interested people and find a time/meeting place that was okay (on the bulletin board I suggested wednesday evening, 5:00 in Clemenstorg in front of Cykel City), then if anyone shows up... fine, we ride together, or if no one shows up... okay, I usually ride alone anyway. I think it is fun and challenging to ride in a group, you end up pushing yourself a little more and learning from better riders. If you are interested send me an e-mail chh55@yahoo.com Where are you from? I take it you are only in Lund to study. How well do you know the roads around Lund? I am an american studying architecture at LTH, I'm 48 years old but try to stay in shape. I also play baseball (pitcher) for the Lund/Malmö division I team. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... good choice on the Pinta, especially the Veloce gruppo. I ride a vintage italian thoroughbred, 1989 OLMO Corse Squadra with the Campagnolo C-Record gruppo, maybe you've seen it roll by somewhere in Lund.
