Bicycle Mechanics - shimano and campy compatibility issues?

Ok I know it was a bit compulsive but I bought a used rear wheel and failed to inspect it closer as I did later at home. :mad:

It turns out it’s a campy 10 spd and my setup is 9 spd shimano, what are my chances of just swapping a shimano cassette and run with it? Is this even possible? Something makes me think is very likely that campy hub’s splines have different spacing than shimanos.
So am I out of luck here? TIA

go check out wheelsmanufacturing website.....they have a conversion(spacer kit) IIRC..

I had a campy rear wheel that I used with a shimano 9 speed drivetrain..

use3d the conversion kit and no problems whatsoever

If it's too much trouble I'll just put it up for resale at Craigslist.

You could use a Campy 9-speed cassette since Campy 10-speed hubs also take their 9-speed cassettes. The shifting may be adequate as-is or you could get the appropriate Jtek Shiftmate to make them completely compatible.

+1. This is probably the fastest, simpliest solution.

What kind of wheel is it? You can also buy Campagnolo freehub bodies that are designed for Shimano 8/9 and swap it out. It's a 5 minute job. This would allow you to use any Shimano 8/9 cassette you wanted.

Whats the hub? many campy cassette body hubs are swappable
