New to the forum and would like some info...

He everyone, I'm new to the forum and am a bit of a hobby cyclist but would like some info from some of you more experienced riders. I have an older 12 spd. Bianchi road bike that I bought many years ago but don't really use it all that much anymore. I really prefer my mountain bike to it. I'm looking to sell it on Craig's List or Kijiji but don't know its value. Can any of you help me put a reasonable price to it? Thanks.

$CDN 50? Or less...:rolleyes: If it's not worth much to you, I don't think it'll be of much worth to anyone else, although it looks like a great bike and should provide it's new owner with a lot of fun.

Some suggestions: Ask your question in a forum with a larger profile; check out other cities in Craigslist under bikes to get an idea of what it might be worth. Or, if cash isn't really a necessity, consider giving to the Sally Ann and make someone's day. At age 42, I started cycling again on an $11 20-year old 12 speed Peugeot from the Sally Ann that was in great shape. Since then I've graduated to a Trek and a Devinci. Now, 5 years later and in the best shape of my life, I owe it all to someone who donated their bike...

Where you are has a lot to do with what you can get for it, large urban centres tend to get higher prices. I had a similar Bianchi I picked up for $17 at the Burlington Re-Use Centre, rode if for a few years, put new tires on it and sold it to a friend of my sons for a $50 donation to the MS society . He's enjoying it now.

That's a nice basic bike - decent crank and pedals, nice colour scheme. I'd ask $125 if the tires are ok.

You should try the Classic and Vintage forum.There's a lot of knowledgable people there concerning older road bikes.You might be able to figure out the year it was made at www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm
