View Full Version : Woodland Hills or West SF Valley?
Hi, I'm wondering if there is anyone who would be interested in doing some rides starting in Woodland Hills or nearby 30-40 miles to start (more as I get more fit). Ultimately, I'd like to be able to ride to the ocean and back but not quite there yet. My pace is 18-low 20's on the flats- (slower on uphills- faster on downhills). Right now I can do weekends anytime and weekday afternoon/evenings. Please let me know. Thanks! (I plan on doing some rides with SFVBC but don't always want to go all the way over to CSUN to start my ride).

It's near the end of the season for this ride but there's a ride that leaves on Thursday's at 5 pm from the Village Roaster coffee shop (or at least in the near vicinity) which is in the center on Valley Circle just on the beach side of 101... the ride is generally a climbers delight although this week the chatter is about riding a "flatter" loop out Mulholland to Cornell/Kanan and back along Agoura Rd- it's mostly rollers on the way out with the exception of "Cardiac" which, while steep, is short. The group is usually above average recreational but friendly and has regroups along the way. Rides usually end around 7 which means that it's starting to get a little dusky by rides end.... ride switches to a light required mountain bike ride from the south end of Reseda Boulevard in the near future.... give it a try!!

I plan on doing some rides with SFVBC but don't always want to go all the way over to CSUN to start my ride.well since they have their rides posted in .pdf form you can always pick them up mid-route if they're headed your direction
Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can make it to the Thursday ride- it sounds like fun!

Also, Mukluk, eventually the Griffith Park Night Rides will be starting back up (maybe even next week). You would need lights for sure, but it's a good 1.5 hour ride (nothing too taxing and no more than 20 miles) with little traffic. You're welcome to join on that too if you don't mind driving to Griffith Park.
