Well,
Finally crashed my new bike. Crossing some railroad tracks. My front wheel got caught in the track between the railroad rail and the road. Jerked the wheel left, unfortunately me and my handlebars continued going straight. Other than a little bit of road rash, my helmet absorbed most of the impact. Knocked my helmet mirror off too. :)
A couple of scrapes and scuffs on my brifters and my pdel. Other than that my bike made out pretty well.
I had a premonition all morning that I should probably stay in bed. I guess I should of.
I crashed at mile 17 of an 18 miler before work.
My wheel looks a little out of true, but nothing major there.
I actually watched my helmet smack the pavement in slow motion. It was very surreal.
I'm very glad that I wear one.
Ps. Today is my Birthday, 38 years old. Just glad to be here.
