Advocacy & Safety - NYC DOT commisioner = cyclist
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Saw this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/04/nyregion/04bicycle.html?ex=1346558400&en=d83fd27c334882d8&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss) this morning and wanted to make sure it made it here. I'm not a huge fan of the push for bike lanes and paths, but having people involved in the Dept. of Transport on bikes is a good first step to more bike friendly policies. Any NYC riders have opinions?

Anything is better than nothing, and in a place that is riddled with traffic jams and pollution, anything that encourages bicycle riding is good.
