I was cruising through the park the other day I saw a pack of like 20+ riders in a line. I didn't think much of it except I saw a pack agian. Does anyone know if this is a club ride or just an informal gathering? Any info would be great as I live near the park and would love to join.

in short this was the answer to the question about the pack of riders at the park...

The big competitive looking group ride is on Tuesday nights and starts at 6PM at the intersection of Middle Drive West and Transverse Drive. The course is a 2.9 mile clockwise loop of Transverse Drive, MLK Jr. Drive, Matson Road, Middle Drive West, MLK Jr., Chain of Lakes Drive, then JFK.

There are usually between 15 and 30 riders on most Tuesday nights, from 5-10 different clubs and a few guys who don't ride for a club or race. There are usually about 2-5 Cat 2's, a few Cat 3's and lots of 4's and 5's.

We roll aout between 6:00 and 6:03 and do 1 lap easy before the hammering starts. There are 2 sprint points. One is on the flat/downhill section of Middle Drive W to a white line across the road. The main sprint point is to the stop sign line at the top of JFK at Transverse.

After the easy first lap we usually do about 5 - 7 hard laps depending on who wants to keep going.

I won't be making it to any of these in September though since I'll be doing the Tuesday night races at Infineon. http://www.goswinery.com/ircs/

I'll be back in October though.

Also, there is usually a much smaller group that rides on Thursday nights, but usually just around the Polo field track.

I'll be doing base workouts with a couple other guys every Tuesday & Thursday night on the polo field track from 6PM - 7:30 PM from November through March.
