It seems like most lights on PCH and University Ave in Irvine are timed against cyclists. It seems like if you are going between 15-20mph you are hitting red light on every major intersection.

Take it up to 35mph and see what happens...:D

No its not just you....my 2 mile commute in irvine takes me through 3 sets of lights and it at least doubles my time to what it should take....have you seen those Cyclist buttons on every traffic light post next to the kerb?? They're a great idea but they don't work...but like an idiot I keep pressing them.

They just activated another set of lights between Culver and Harvard. They are timed. Brilliant idea considering there is almost no traffic from those side streets.

Actually that intersection (University & San Joaquin) has had an average of 8 serious accidents per year and multiple fatalities. It serves over 750 homes as well as a golf course, tennis club, and senior center. There is actually quite a bit of traffic going in and out of there.
