I plan on doing it within a year or two. When I was running I ran the Hogpen Hillclimb, a grueling uphill 17 K (a bit over ten miles). It was probably the hardest race I ever ran. I believe Hogpen Gap is one of the six gaps, so I'd be prepared for some killer hills if you ride it.

Long story, but I think we're doing a non-century 6-Gap the day before the official one.

I did it last year; had a great time! It's a killer ride; make sure you take enough gearing and have fun on the down hills. Last year it rained on the first couple of climbs and I was wishing I had a rain jacket as it got pretty cool.
I hit 54 mph down the back side of Hogpen. :)
make sure you take enough gearing
What's standard gearing for the gaps? I'm just looking at the 3 for now.

i am sure you have ridden then in training - but for me wolfpen was the hardest - in that rain last year was very hard. i only had standard gearing that the bianca has - and me - slow as kudzu was only doing 3.5 up
one slow rider here
enjoy the ride
