Basicly Trail riding.. I am a big guy too..
I need to fix my rim before I go back out riding..
I wish i knew how to do it myself.. Unless someone wants to enlighten me :) I am tried of bringing it into the shop.
Go to the mechanics forum and find the section on wheels in the Barnetts manual..or search the net. Explaining it is pretty hard.

Went for my 1st real ride today... It was a blast.. they worked great! I have to admit I fell a few times tho... On a steep incline, my bike flipped back a bit and couldnt recover, I went head over arse attached to the bike :)
Also fell on a hairpin turn.. Tried to put my foot down, then realized I was attached.. Duh
I guess it will become automatic once I get used to it...

I tried to get some idea of how the clips attach to the egg beaters but I can't find any. Any chance you can post a pic of your shoes attached/locked into the Mallet's? I'd appreciate it ... thanks man.

Funbags,
I just bought the Mallet C pedals for $56 (supergo.com). I have been looking for some clipless pedals that fit my needs. I blew my ankle out a while back and have problems turning my right ankle out. I tried some Shimano 646 (spd) pedals a while back and nearly killed myself.
I will be trying my new pedals this weekend. Did you ever get used to getting out of the pedals? I was told that they start to loosen up after use.
Hey,
I survived my first ride with the new pedals. I only fell once on Desert Classic trail. The fall was due to a large rock that turned my handle bars to the locks. I saved myself from falling at that point, but when I came to a stop I forgot I was clipped in and promptly fell to the ground with bike in tow. Luckily nobody was around to witness...
I also figured out that I can get out of the eggbeater pedals much easier if I turn my heal in instead of out. My ankle turns that way without significant pain.

Funny.....I was just thinking the same thing...
Anyway, I own a small chain of small businesses and I certainly do not wish to see any of my clients visiting my competitors...... if you get my drift... ;)

Forums are forums. I could understand if Joe was actually making money off this site, but I KNOW he doesn't care about us visiting other forums. The more the merrier.

maybe its the fact that the thread is over a year old? I remember reading it when this thread was first introduced.
