I recently bought a used Trek 520. I've looked at the pictures on their web site and have narrowed it down to from 2001-2004, the bikes were very much unchanged for those years. The serial number is WW0189505. Could anyone tell me what model year it is?

email Trek with the serial #. They will be glad to tell you. I did for my used 520. Took them a few days to reply but they were very courteous.
