The following link will show you a map of the area I am talking about. <http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=south+hadley+ma&ie=UTF8&ll=42.219492,-72.600617&spn=0.009249,0.019054&z=15&om=0> There is a five-way rotary here. The inconsistency is that there are signs banning cyclists (and equestrians and pedestrians) at some entrances and not at others. There is such a sign as the W. Summit St. entrance but not at either of the Purple Heart Dr. entrances. I've never used the two N. Main St. entrances so I don't know about them. The bridge that is part of Purple Heart Dr. has a sidewalk but there are no other sidewalks around. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on here? I would like to complain about the sign at the W. Summit St. entrance (which I do not heed by the way) but I am afraid of inspiring a full-on ban of cyclists on the rotary and the nearest alternate bridge is significantly out of my way especially if you take conditions into account.

Is it--and this is a guess--because the rotary CAN let you exit onto 202 headed east, which looks like it might be a restricted-use road (i.e. banned to cyclists, peds, and equestrians)? Thus they put a sign on it at one time, but then forgot to take it down when they realized there are other exits legal for cyclists?
