Trek 7300, 2007 model (or 2008 for that matter): can someone confirm whether 17.5 inch and 20 inch models have different crank lengths?

Your knee position would be a little different at the top of the stroke.

Yes it does matter. In general the taller you are, the longer your cranks. Too long cranks on a short guy will cause problems as you're pedalling a larger circle.
