Introductions - Greetings

Just checked in to this forum (got the recommendation from another audio forum). I'm from Hawaii but currently in Japan. My bike is a Gios Compact Pro with 105s on them. I love to ride (no surprises here) and look forward to participating in this forum!

Well, not that big really... pucci, I'm here onbase in Yokosuka so I've got a few routes I take. The most common is down south to the Miura penninsula to Cannonzaki and back. Today I took one of my longer routes to Yokohama China Town, a favorite ride. How about yourself?

Fractus2, I Live in Yokokohama and work in Tokyo. Most of my miles are my commute to the office 3 time a week. On the weekends I ride around Tama New Town or go to the Tanzawa mountains or the Shonan coast. The crawl up to Daikanzan (1,100m) and Hakone from Yugawara on the coast is a favorite.

BTW, one of the best things about riding in Japan is the hill-climb races. They almost make up for the complete lack of any long open-road races.

Wow, we are pretty close. I've never got into any group rides or races. I've done a few centuries and one of them was west along Zushi beach to Odawara then up toward Hakone. Made it up the mountain there, but not too far because I had to ride back! That was one beautiful ride though. I've also rode all the way down the Miura peninsula to Misaki and back. Also a very scenic ride. That was a few years back though and I'm not in the shape I was back then.

My wife and I (and dog) have been up to Tama Hills, the military recreation facility there and it's very scenic.

What kind of bike do yo have?

Yes we are pretty close. Maybe we can link up sometime.

A solo century is a tough ride. My longest solo is 155km. Beyond that and the will to move starts to disappear. Group rides and organized fast-runs, on the other hand, are a blast. I've done fast-runs up to 300kms and recommend trying one.

Being a bike nut, I've got a shed full of bikes. The best is a Cinelli
Aliante with Campy Record. For the commute I use a Nishiki Pro with Suntour Superbe Pro or a Specialized Festina SL with Campy Centaur.
