My dad may be getting transfered from New Orleans to Philadelphia. If he does, theres a good chance we will move around December. Now with school, is it better for me to start the second semester over there, or to finish off 11th grade here, and go there and repeat 11th. Anyone else do one semester in one school and the second in another because of a move? What are some problems i will encounter? I know i will need to catch up on the stuff they did, but anything else?

I moved twice during HS, both times in July, so I can't give you any good advice.

Any military brats here who have had to move during the school year?

Does your dad have any say in when this might happen? If not, don't get all worked up about it. Just do your best in school, and be yourself. Whatever is meant to happen, will happen, and your attitude, more than anything else will determine your successfulness.

I suggest talking with a counselor at your high school to get the best information regarding what you need to know/do. They have considerable training and experience in dealing with situations like this.

My dad does have a say so in it, but there are also company policies so there is a certain limit that he can push to. I will be consulting my counselor tomorrow and see what she has to say about it.

If you're ever in need of civilization, the British are just across the river.
