Aloha people,

I like to edit videos just for fun. I only have Windows Movie Maker, but intend on upgrading to something like Vegas or what have you in the future. I can do quite a bit with Movie Maker with some ingenuity and editing.

I intend on making a montage music video of my Tarmac once I get the cash to pay for it. I'm going through ideas in my head right now. I think the idea I'm going to run with right now is to give the video a dark industrial machine feel. I'd like to stage some shots in my garage with the bike, lights off, and play with lighting effects like strobes, spot lights, above lighting, etc.. This will remove other objects from the shot and focus on the bike.

The problem I'm having is some of the songs I'm considering using are around 4 minutes long, but I can probably edit them to cut a minute or so off each. I may end up having to use some scenes of myself on the bike.

Anyways, what do you guys have for suggestions on songs to use? Again, looking for a rock industrial feel. Something thick on a beat, but distinct sounds I can play around with when syncing video up to it.

Right now my top picks, in order or preference are:

Prodigy - Baby's Got a Temper
Prodigy - Spitfire
Prodigy - Hot Ride
Tortoise - Dot/Eyes
Nine Inch Nails - Getting Smaller
Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy
Dj Shadow - Drums of Death
Aphex Twin - girlboylovely - 1:49 long, not necessarily best song to work with. Some cool sounds though
Propellerheads - Take California
Tony Iommi and Dave Grohl - Goodbye Lament
Buckethead - Frozen Brains Tell Tales
Aphex Twin - On Off (remix)
LCD Soundsystem - Thrills
Unkle - Safe in Mind
Buckethead - Carpel Tunnel Tomb Toker

Problem with the NIN, Iommi, and Buckethead songs is they have pretty heavy vocals too which try to tell their own story which don't necessarily relate to the story I'm telling in the video. That's why I'm leaning towards the 'Baby's Got a Temper' song by Prodigy. I want the bike to look mean and fast which goes with a baby having a temper.

This is just a short list of some songs I'm considering. I'm bound to find more later. You guys have any suggestions? Perhaps you have a better idea for the video plot. Right now I'm just going to have fun with different lighting and ways to showcase the bike. I was originally going to use the NIN - Getting Smaller song and do more of a montage of me riding aggressively around town with a lot of action, but I decided I'm not going to build air cannons to make the explosions I wanted.

Lemme know if you guys can think of anything cool to do. Matt

Wherever I may roam by Metallica.

By the way, the song I have for my Michigander 2007 slideshow (whenever my friend gets back from out of state and helps me upload it) has the insturmental version of Sunrise by Ted Nugent.

Maybe one of the harder songs by the Gorillaz? Or 'Push the Button' by The Chemical Brothers or whatever they're called.

Or "Small Town Boy" by Bronski Beat
