View Full Version : Dinotte XLS- Triple Tailight
Has anyone had any experience with this light ?
Its probably a bit too powerful for a rear light.
This is from the dinotte site.
"What else is there to say. You have all been amazed with our single tail light's astonishing power, now you can have this in a triple package. This is not for the faint of heart!! Please use responsibly. Chances are you're also going to figure out how to mount this beast all by yourself. We're delivering the light as if it was a headlight on a standard handlebar. The light has a #8 machine screw hole tapped for mounting. Good luck."
You need to select the "xls-extreme lighting solutions" from the Current Category drop down.

Same here just starting to think of the mounting options. This tail light should be great for day light visibility.

This comment really bugs me! Dinotte knows that there tail lights have been a pain in the ass to mount for almost 2 years.

There IS now a bracket thing supplied with the tail lights - But I could not find it listed as an accessory.
Not sure I'm 100% convinced by it - I will stick to by cable ties and pipe under the seat.

Will the quick release mount supplied with the XLS not also fit onto the new clamp thingy ?

Ok, Dinotte's 3W/5W/200L lights are priced a little on the high side but still affordable but this light is just uber expensive. I showed a mate this and he started working on piecing out the parts pricing. One can build something like this for ~$150-200 pending if parts are around for you to keep the costs low. We're talking USD on the funds there so it looks like Dinotte's making a chunky profit. I'm not against making a profit but damn.. make it a bit more affordable for everyone else that's concerned about safety.

I made some CREE XR based LED lights which I considered commercializing.
But the costs soon mounted up with the mechanical details, mounts, Li-ion battery safety considerations, EMC testing then marketing and support. I did not think it was worthwhile pursuing.
A 3:1 sales to parts cost ratio is realistic if you want to start sustainable full time business.
