I got a pair of Hutchinson Top Slick Gold tires and put them on my mountain bike. They were so thin (26 x 1.20) they looked incredibly dorky on my mountain bike. However, when I road them they were super fast. Since I am doing alot of road riding right now while trying to get my weight down and my endurance up these tires seem great. Has anyone used them before? Did they last a long time? Alot of flats? Other than the dorky looking appearence of them I hope they work out for awhile.

Your point is well taken, however, when you have been out of cycling and have gained some weight you would like to make the return to cycling a little easier to avoid getting frustrated. I know alot of riders who are in great shape us regular mountain bike tires when they ride on the road to get additional resistance to help with there training. I'm just not there yet!

They'll be fine as long as you stay under the 15mph recommended speed limit. Those tires have been known to explode causing permanent facial injuries at speeds above 20mph.
