Southeast - Possible job offer in Frankfort, KY

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I might be getting a job offer from a consulting company that has a contract in Frankfort, Kentucky and wanted to hear from fellow cyclists about the area.
How are the people towards cyclists?
Are the roads any good (for skinny tire riding)?
Is there mountain biking trails?
Anything other information that you can think of would be great!!!

SoCal to Frankfurt. Culture Shock!!!!
Yeah!!! Just the size difference is going to give me a heart attack! The city that I live in (Aliso Viejo) has 40,000 residents and I am bordered by Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, and Mission Viejo in southern Orange County (total population of 3 million)...
Moving to a town with 27,000 residents will be quite a change!
But I will be able to afford a house (average is $118k versus $650k in SoCal) and save a ton of money while there. The position could last from 6 months to 3 years, and then I would be moving again for a new project that could be anywhere in the world.
I just hope that they have broadband internet access there!!!

Since it is the state capital, and located essentially mid-point Lexington (Univ of KY) and Louisville, I'd expect broadband.
Of course horses, roundball, and state politics (corruption) will be the major sports - not necessarily in that order.
I lived in Louisville a number of years ago, and the running joke among the natives during the gubenatorial contest was that the trailing candidate seemed honest, but had no money. Whereas all the natives knew that the leading candidate had stolen all his money fair and square. Btw, that leading candidate did win, and later did spend time as a guest of the federal gov't.

theres alot of good rides, rolling hills through beautiful landscapes. alot of people from lexington make the drive 20 minutes to ride outside of frankfort. frankfort is a little boring though, however you are within an hour and a half of cincinnati, louisville and minutes from lexington.
