I'm trying to get my Topeak 140 Cyclometer to fit on my new bike, a Giant OCR3 with carbon fiber front fork. The odd-shaped fork is close to the spokes at all times - I tried mounting the sensor at the top of the fork with the magnet on the spoke nearly touching the rim, and it was still contacting. Topeak says to keep the distance below 4mm, but I can't find a position anywhere on the fork where there is enough room to mount things. The only option I could think of was to mount the sensor near the edge of the fork, where the sensor would be at a slight angle... but I'm not sure how well this would hold, nor am I sure if having the sensor at an angle would alter the results.

Suggestions? I bought the 140 because I was happy with my 130 (on a different bike) and wanted to get cadence - but I may have to find a unit other than Topeak since it is the speed sensor that will not fit on the Giant.

UPDATE - I wrote the original owner of the bike (since he had a Trek cyclometer on the bike) and did some research on the web about fitting a speed sensor on a non-round front fork. Based on how the Trek sensor was mounted on the bike and pictures I saw on the web of similar fork setups, I ended up mounting the speed sensor at a slight angle on the front edge of the fork. The sensor is still close to the magnet - well within 4mm. I'll post back to report on how this holds up.
