Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My padding on my attack shorts comes up pretty high in the front, and makes me uncomfortable. How is your "stuff" supposed to sit? I know this question is borderline but where better to ask.
pointed either right or left?

How high are we talking?
The padding is not just for sitting on. ;) In most shorts it wraps around to the front to absorb moisture.
If the shorts are uncomfortable try Voler (http://www.velowear.com/) shorts or bibs.
I wore PI, Canari, Nashbar, Performance, REI, etc. until recently. After trying Voler shorts and bibs I'm sold on their comfort and fit, especially the bibs. And the price is cheaper than PI.

At least you're not confusing drivers by constantly signalling a left hand turn.:D
oh and don't get off you bike too quickly, it has a tendancy to wake your stuff for a stretch after their slumber......
Canbe embarrassing when you're chatting to a leggy lady.
Hi,
it could be the shorts are not right for you. it could also be that the seat is improperly adjusted, or just plain wrong for you. It would make sense to start with the shorts, tho. Voler has the 6 oz short on sale for $25, if you sign up for their email newsletter. The newsletter is ok, I get it.
Good question... with most shorts I've owned the end of my... um... gear... rubs the top of the fuzzy section. I'd also like to find shorts that come up higher in the front.

What are you growin' down there?
Maybe you need an operation. ;)

I think we're old enough to use the proper terminology :D
- penis
- testicles
ah well...yes, I do find it does get in the way (wonder how cycling as a women is like :D)
It's usually left or right...not that there's any other option (well..up is possible..but that would be just weird)

Those words lead to tacky immature jokes, thanks for the pic though.

Option 1: Start with Mr Winky to the left and gently wrap clockwise - if it is your preference reverse.
Option 2: Have Mr Winky join the NASA program and head towards the stars.
Option 3: If wrapping is a confusing concept a gentle slouch left or right.
There is a big comfort difference between knicks on tackle position and other areas. You'll probably need to find a different home than in your briefs/boxers/lingerie/freeballing.
Best of luck :D
I find straight up is better, because it means I can ride no hands without the excess weight to one side making me do gentle turns :D

Mr. Winkie points straight up in this part of the world. He likes to avoid compression.

Heh... the thread kills me. :roflmao: There's nothing exceptional down there.
What do you guys do with the berries? I need to move them forward so they don't get pinched by the seat and that causes the snake to ride a bit high and rub on the top edge of the chamois (Louis Garneau bib shorts).

I have had the same packaging problems... Never seems to be enough room for the whole team...or where all the players
It does beg the question - if a good fitting saddle is only really meant to be in contact with your sit bones, then why even have this pointy protrution anyway... except for the discussion that's been going on over in the "Bicycle Smiles" thread.
Why not just bobit the thing and make room for the party!
Here a picture of what I'm thinking...

Are we talking bibs, shorts, or kilts here?:D
You just gotta mess around with how you set things up. Your seat may also be the culprit. Flat and slightly turned to the right is how I have my seat..Then, before rides, I make sure everthing is comfy with my shorts before I take off.

Funnily enough I've just seen a courier go up Frederick Street in Edinburgh on a fixie, wearing a kilt. I wonder if he is a true Scot, or whether chamois was involved. :)

Where's Frederick Street... Spent a few days in Edinburgh last spring and absolutly fell in love with the place.
Even better question - what's a fixie ( fixed gear bike??)

It's one of the streets which runs perpendicular to George Street, about a mile or so from the castle. It runs down towards the new town area(from the 1800's).
My office is half way down.
It's all cobbles where I am, so the courier may have been gettg a bicycle smile!
