When I first read the thread title, I thought you were hospitalized. Glad it's something happy, instead.

what kind of puppy you getting? If I send you a bottle, will you bottle some warm sleeping puppy smell and send it back to me. My dog is out of that smell.

Well that's not fair, most of us have to live with our mistakes!

We have a Papillon, (Bruiser, in my avatar) and a Pomeranian named Chopper. The new one is a Papillon/Pomeranian cross named Buster. My wife refused to let me name him Rick James. It may be a few hours before I can get him to sit still for a photo.

Aww, sounds adorable!

That reminds me that I need to take more picture of my puppies though!

I can sympathise with your wife. I can totally picture you walking the dogs, and when someone asks their names, you reply "those two are bruiser and chopper, and this is Rick James, beotch!"

Actually, I think dogs speak a secret language, and I wanted him to be able to say that famous phrase to female dogs.

He was raised by a guy that trains SWAT dogs, so he doesn't bark. The other two will fix that.:D

I have cleaned up 3 turds (only 2 from the new pup) and 4 wet spots on the carpet. He better learn quick. Here's a shot of him, motionless for a brief moment:

It is a good thing babies are cute or no one would want one.

You got trouble, he is very cute.

Sometimes a turd just forms out of nothingness. It's amazing to see. One of natures true miracles.

:D

It came from a dog that should know better.

Even though Buster is the smallest of the three, he's definitely a guy's dog. I was in the kitchen reading and was vaguely aware of a small dog scarfing down food like a little pig. The next thing I know, he burped loud and proud.

It's weird, I rented Chopper the other night and thought of you, Brian. Good luck with the new puppy.

So do people not crate-train small dogs? My goldens learned right quick to go outside.

I would suggest you waste at least an hour on Youtube watching all his videos as well. He's entertaining in a way no American could ever be.

Donna, he was an outside pup, so they apparently didn't bother with a crate. Luckily, he's only 5 months old, so he's still trainable. He spent last night in a crate, and when I took him out at 0'dark thirty, there was a baby owl on the telephone lines. Worthwhile getting up that early. He still hasn't barked, and if he whimpers, a quiet "shh" shuts him up.

You'll have to get a shot of the mini-pack and post it.

That would require sedatives. But here's one from this morning:

Actually, it's all the result of a misunderstanding. See, my wife keeps sending me text messages saying that she wants a little doggy. And I keep buying her puppies.

Don't forget to be calm-assertive so the dog will be calm-submissive. ;)

Ok, keep in mind that a had to hold a dog treat above the lens of my digital p/s to get this. If I had some help and used my SLR, the results would have been much better, and from a more eye-level perspective. Here's the gang:

That's part of the course. It's all in the required text - Chapter 23: How to be All Things to All Humans. They charm the womenfolk with their cuteness and impress the menfolk with their badassedness.

Bruiser is the old man of the pack, and a bit put out by having a new baby brother every year.

He'll whip them into shape soon enough.

The novelty has worn off. He pees everywhere. I'm replacing all our flooring, so it's not the end of the world. But he lifted his leg on my Cannondale two days ago, which was bad. And I have a $1,000 dye sub printer sitting on the floor, (covered, thankfully) that he peed on as well.

Grrr.

He's still cute though. :D

Have him checked out for urine crystals, too?
