So on my *grueling* flat go straight for a mile then turn left for another sorta twisty mile ride home from the PT jerb, an animal of some sort (sorta looked like a woodchuck or rabbit) decided to run across the bike path as I went by. It only got run over by my rear wheel so I doubt it really got injured. I didn't go down but it sure got my attention.

Hope the little guy is OK. I'd feel super bad if it's now injured. :(

Just be glad it didn't end up in the spokes of your front wheel. Animal decapitation endo city.

The animal probably just thinks you're a dick.

There's this stretch of a local bike trail that goes right through some squirrel breeding grounds. This time of season, all the little squirrel juveniles are out and, I guess, haven't developed a sense of awareness regarding the multitude of dangers around them. They seem to wait until the most inopportune time to dart across the path, and right in front of my tire. I'm constantly on edge about hitting one or three of them.

Scary, yo.

I ran over a bird downtown.

It died right there :(

Than some homeless guy came by, picked it up, and put it in the trash.

that's like the hampster wheel of death...for squirrels. i can't imagine what went through that little guy's head for the split second before he dominated that fork, probably not much. things like this wouldn't happen if everyone used disc wheels.

fork would have been fine if it was steel...might have bent a little.

he tried to clear it. he could've made it with the low spoke/lacing pattern he just failed

The outcome would've been the same - replace fork.
