Hi everyone.
Here is my situation:
I have started riding again after years of loafing and I built up a rigid mountain bike to ride in hopes of losing weight (lost 65 lbs so far). During this riding time, my mountain bike went through many changes and is now set up as a converted cyclocross bike with drop bars, mountain disc brakes, bar end shifters, and four 700c disc brake wheelsets.
Building a bike like this has lots of trade-offs:
Road rims with mountain hubs,
Special brake levers for drop bars that work on mountain bike disc brakes,
Special drop handlebars that fit a mountain stem,
cable routing issues,
HEAVY BIKE WEIGHT!!!
and other things.
I now want a "REAL" cyclocross bike (either by buying or building) and need help identifying which bikes and/or frames have 135mm spacing and disc brake tabs. For some reason, most manufacturers don't list the rear dropout spacing. There seems to be no standard, some are 130mm and some are 135mm.
I have heard that the Cannondale Cyclocross Disc is a 135mm spaced bike, and that the Redline Conquest Disc is a 130mm spaced bike, but don't know for sure.
And what about that bike from Focus??? Who knows?? I don't!
Can some of you cyclocross guys and gals help me compose a list of cyclocross disc bikes and frames and what their rear spacing is? It would be great getting a "real" cyclocross bike that my four wheelsets would work with.
Thank you.
