Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Vilano Bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone have experience with Vilano Bikes?

or
Randall Scott Bikes

Vilano bikes is a small company down the road from me in St. Augustine. I've never actually seen one, but the parts list is really low end, so not sure what the results would be or how reliable it would be. Never heard of the Randall Scott bikes though the drive train seem to be higher up the Shimano food chain.

How do I learn about components and what is cheap and crappy and what is good?
Check out the Shimano, Campagnolo and SRAM sites. Also Sheldon Brown's site is a great reference and Road Bike Review has a great site for information and user reviews.
