Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Are bikes not cool anymore?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Because this guy (http://cgi.ebay.com/Guerciotti-Pista-Track-Bike_W0QQitemZ200151441132) seems to be getting rid of all his bike stuff, including his U-lock and floor pump.
Just saw it on eBay, thought it was weird and probably a little overpriced.

My Jeep is making me happy.
Also, if you track bikes on the street riding *******s start hiking up the prices of vintage mountain bike stuff, I'm going to kill all of you.

I was at the thrasher asr party this weekend and there was some fixed **** talking.
Who cares what's 'cool' or not? Do what you you enjoy, and if you have some sort of problem with others enjoying it too, stealing your thunder if you will, then you have a serious problem with wanting to be 'cool'.
One person sells their bike ---> Bikes are not cool `anymore'.
Sorry I don'T get it.

I just thought it was funny that the guy seems to be selling all of his (seemingly unused) cycling-related items in one auction.

I think you guys might be in danger of reading too much into the OP.
Reading through that auction, I realized how much I hate it when people say 'campagnola' instead of 'campagnolo'. It says it on the god damn part- how hard is it to look at it and spell it right? ****.

I have Campagnola parts on my Fugi tarck bike.
That is kind of strange. I sometimes see entry level mountain bikes that come with a lock, helmet, pump, gloves etc but usually it's just Magnas and Huffys.

does it have breaks?
shouldn't buy it if it's gonna break anywhere.
The guy obviously knows crap about using ebay. If you want to maximize profit, end the bidding on a Sunday. Encourage early bidding by having low starting bid. Don't look like an idiot by having starting bid so close to BIN. He will be lucky to sell that bike IMO, but hey what do I know.

Consider this:
Maybe his whole family and him just got evicted, and he is selling to get money to feed his poor, starving children. Or he just got robbed of everything he owns except his bicycle and the accessories.
HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
But yea. Prob just a hipster that thought gold, Japanese stuff looks good on everything.
